Pierpont Battery

JAMES ANDERSON, son of Marcus and Rebecca Anderson, was born in Union, March 20, 1844.  Went into Co. D, Pierpont Battery, March 5, 1864.  No sickness to keep him off duty, nor wounds, nor capture.  Was left at Camp B. D. C. in the 19th N.G. Art. while the Battery was home on veteran furlough.  Discharged with the Battery at Wheeling June 28, 1865.

 JOSEPH T. HUTCHINSON, son of Joseph and Jane Hutchinson, was born in Warren, Feb. 15, 1833.  Went out in Sept. 1861 as a member of the Pierpont Battery.  Never wounded or captured.  He died Sept. 12, 1863 of camp disease near Rappahannock Station Va.  Was brought home by his friends and interred in the Warren Burying ground.

HENRY W. HUTCHINSON, son of Joseph and Jane Hutchinson, was born in Warren Jan. 28, 1830.  Enlisted Sept. 1, 1861, in Battery C, 1st Va. Lt. Art.  Was sick several weeks with camp disease.  Recovered and returned to Battery.  Taken again with same disease immediately after the battle of Gettysburg.  He was sent first to hospital, thence to his home, where he soon after received his discharge.  Did not recover till the next spring.

 BYRON G. REPPART, son of James A. and Frances H. Reppert, was born in Green Co. Penn. Oct. 9, 1839.  Went out in Battery C, 1st Va. Lt. Art. Sept. 1, 1861.  Was sick (1st) about three months in Tennessee with fever, following a hurt received in mounting a gun.  (2nd) About four months at Brandy Station Va. with camp disease.  Never wounded or captured, and in all the engagements of the Battery except the 2nd Bull Run.  Discharged with the Battery at Washington City March 30, 1865.

2nd Ohio Heavy Artillery

HENRY FINCH, son of Alfred and Jane Finch, was born in Harmar about 1845.  Enlisted in 2nd O. H. Art. in July 1862.  Was considerably sick with rheumatism, but was in all the service of his regiment except when thus disabled.  Was never wounded or captured, and was discharged with his regiment 1865.

TIMOTHY FISH, son of James and Alice Fish, was born in Lancashire, England, Jan. 9, 1837.  Went out in 1863 in 2nd O. H. Art.  Had no serious disability at last account except deafness from Artillery practice.  His parents have heard nothing from him for over a year.  He is supposed to be dead.

CHARLES L. HOLLISTER, son of Richard D. and Sophia B. Hollister, was born in Dunham Tp. Aug. 9, 1843.  He enlisted in Battery K, 2nd O. H. Art. in Aug. 1863.  Had no sickness, wounds or capture since his enlistment.  Was on detached duty in the Commissary Department during his last year of service.  Discharged at Camp Denison Aug. 1865.

WILSON L. NUGENT, son of G. M. and Sarah A. Nugent, was born in Adams Tp. April 13, 1841.  Went out in June 1863, as private, but became Sergeant in Battery K, 2nd O. H. Art.  Was in hospital with fever at Mumfordsville soon after going out and once again at Knoxville.  Was slightly wounded in the leg on a skirmish near Cleveland, Tenn.  Was never captured.  Is still in the service awaiting discharge.

JASPER PRYOR, son of Henry and Anna Pryor, was born in Washington Co. June 8, 1846.  Went out with Battery K, 2nd O. H. Art. Aug. 13, 1863.  He was taken sick about the 23rd of Nov. at Mumfordsville with typhoid pneumonia and died at the place Dec. 12, 1863.  He was buried near the town with military honors.
