Virginia Light Artillery

HENRY W. HUTCHINSON, son of Joseph and Jane Hutchinson, was born in Warren Jan. 28, 1830.  Enlisted Sept. 1, 1861, in Battery C, 1st Va. Lt. Art.  Was sick several weeks with camp disease.  Recovered and returned to Battery.  Taken again with same disease immediately after the battle of Gettysburg.  He was sent first to hospital, thence to his home, where he soon after received his discharge.  Did not recover till the next spring.

 BYRON G. REPPART, son of James A. and Frances H. Reppert, was born in Green Co. Penn. Oct. 9, 1839.  Went out in Battery C, 1st Va. Lt. Art. Sept. 1, 1861.  Was sick (1st) about three months in Tennessee with fever, following a hurt received in mounting a gun.  (2nd) About four months at Brandy Station Va. with camp disease.  Never wounded or captured, and in all the engagements of the Battery except the 2nd Bull Run.  Discharged with the Battery at Washington City March 30, 1865.
