148th Ohio National Guard

EDWARD ANDERSON, son of Marcus and Rebecca Anderson, was born in Philadelphia, June 14, 1838. Went out in Co. K, 148th O.N.G. Sick two weeks at Bermuda Hundred. Returned and was discharged at Marietta. 

SETH BAILEY, son of William S. and Maria Bailey, was born in Warren, Nov. 8, 1845.  Went out in Co. K, 148th O.N.G.  Had considerable sickness but remained in camp.  Returned and was discharged at Marietta. 

CORNELIUS E. BOOTHBY, son of Robert and Isabella Boothby, was born in Warren June 16, 1838.  Went in Co. K, 148th O.N.G.  Had poor health with an attack of hemorrhage of the lungs on his way home.  Discharged with the Company. 

DAVID BOOTHBY, son of William and Martha Boothby, was born in Washington Co. Dec. 16, 1847.  Went out in Co. K, 148th O.N.G.  Taken sick at City Point Va. with typhoid fever, but able to return and be discharged with Regiment. 

JOSEPH M. BOOTHBY, son of Robert and Isabella Boothby, was born in Warren Nov. 28, 1840.  Went in Co. K, 148th O.N.G.  Was not in hospital, but came home indisposed.  Discharged with the Company. 

JOHN T. CECIL, son of Benjamin and Charlotte Cecil, was born in Belmont Co. O. Feb. 22, 1840.  Went in Co. F, 148th O.N.G.  Had considerable sickness and was left behind by the Company on their return; but reached Marietta in time to be discharged with them. 

GEORGE K. CECIL, son of Benjamin and Charlotte Cecil, was born in Belmont Co. O. April 18, 1844.  Went out in Co. K, 148th O.N.G.   Had no sickness to be in hospital.  Was discharged with the Company. 

CLARK L. CHRISTOPHER, son of DeCamp and Harriet Christopher, was born in Fayette Co. Penn. Dec. 1, 1837.  Went out in May 1864 in Co. K, 148th O.N.G.  Did not leave the company on account of sickness and was discharged with it at Marietta. 

CHARLES COFFMAN, son of Thomas and Rebecca Coffman, was born in Watertown Jan. 13, 1838.  Went out in Co. K, 148th O.N.G.   Had no serious sickness so as to be off duty.  Came home and was discharged with the regiment. 

HENRY COFFMAN, son of Thomas and Rebecca Coffman, was born in Watertown May 26, 1832.  Went out in Co. K, 148th O.N.G.  Was in hospital with measles at Harper’s Ferry and Sandy Hook soon after going out, and ill when the regiment returned; but came and was discharged with them.  Was near the Ordnance depot at the explosion at City Point but was unhurt. 

COLUMBUS FRENCH, son of Isaac and Sarah French, was born in Warren May 1833.  Went with Co. K, 148th O.N.G.  Was sick about a week during the service.  Was discharged with the company. 

SAMUEL M. HART, son of Fredk. And Elizabeth Hart, was born in Allegheny Co. Penn. Dec. 22, 1829.  Went out in Co. K, 148th O.N.G.  Was off duty by sickness after July 15 but came back and was discharged with the Company. 

MILLER H. HART, son of Fredk. And Elizabeth Hart, was born in Allegheny Co Penn. Feb. 28, 1845.  Went out in Co. K, 148th O.N.G.  Had good health until the last week of service when he was attacked by camp disease but came home with the company. 

THOMAS HAWKINS, son of John and Mary Hawkins, was born in Union April 1, 1839.  Went out in Co. K, 148th O.N.G.  Was on duty constantly with no material sickness.  Discharged with the Company. 

JAMES HENDERSON, son of John and Jane Henderson, was born in Pennsylvania about 1828.  Went from Warren in Co. K, 148th O.N.G.  Was off duty most of the term with measles and mumps; but returned with the regiment and was discharged at Marietta. 

G[eorge] R[ichard] HOLLISTER, son of Richard D. and Sophia B. Hollister, was born in Dunham Tp. July 26, 1846.  Went out in Co. K, 148th O.N.G.  Was taken sick in July 1864 with camp fever and was I hospital most of the time.  Was able to come home and be discharged with the regiment Sept. 14, 1864. 

BLOOMFIELD JOHNSON, son of Jacob and Sarah Johnson, was born in Warren June 21, 1833.  Was out in Co. K, 148th O.N.G.  Sick a month in hospital at City Point.  Returned and was discharged with the company. 

THOMAS LYNCH, son of John and Sarah Lynch, was born in Washington Co. July 27, 1835.  Went out in Co. K, 148th O.N.G.  Had some slight sickness but did not leave his place in camp.  Discharged with the company. 

SAMUEL LIGHTFRITZ, son of John and Elizabeth Lightfritz, was born in Washington Co. in 1827.  Went out in Co. F, 148th O.N.G.  Had good health during the service of the regiment.  Returned and was discharged at Marietta. 

HORACE H. MALCOLM, son of Silas and Elizabeth Malcolm, was born in Wood Co. Va. May 9, 1848.  Went from Warren in Co. K, 148th O.N.G.  Was off duty by sickness about three days.  Returned and was discharged with the regiment. 

THOMAS STAGE, son of James and Amy Stage, was born in Cumberland Co. Penn. March 4, 1827.  Went out in Co. F, 148th O.N.G.  Never lost a day through sickness.  Came home and was discharged with company at Marietta. 

GEORGE W. SMITH, son of G. W. and Cynthia Smith, was born in Warren Aug. 5, 1845.  Went out in Co. F, 148th O.N.G.  Was not seriously ill.  Continued with the company and was discharged with them. 

AMOS D. WYNN, son of Joseph and Sarah Wynn, was born in Beaver Co. Penn. Aug. 17, 1834.  Went out with Co. K, 148th O.N.G.  Was not sick to be off duty during service and was discharged with the regiment at Marietta Sept. 14, 1864.
