JOSEPH TUNNECLIFF,
son of Joseph and Catharine Tunnecliff, was born in Allegheny Co. Penn. March 7, 1838. Enlisted in Co. C, 5th O.V.I. in May 1861. Was much troubled by a cough and other ailments during the first two years of his service. In 1862, he was captured by Stonewall Jackson and sent to Libby prison where, after being held three months, he was paroled, and went to Parole Camp on Port Republic Island, where he staid three months. Was struck once by a spent fragment of shell, but not materially injured. He was discharged at the expiration of his term at Chattanooga June 20, 1864.
DANIEL MORRIS, son of Moses and Sarah Ann Morris, was born in Morgan Co., O. Nov. 15, 1845. Enlisted from Warren and was assigned to Co. I, 18th O.V.I. in April 1865. Joined the regiment at Chattanooga and continued with them in Post duty and other service at the South.
VINSON D. MORGAN, son of John and Nancy Morgan, was born in Noble Co. O. Nov. 21, 1835. Went out (1st) in the O.N.G. from Ross Co. and had severe sickness with camp disease, came home and received his discharge with the Company. Went out again Sept. 26, 1864 in Co. I, 65th O.V.I. Was again disabled by camp disease in the spring of 1865. Was never wounded and received his discharge with the regiment at Nashville Tenn. June 16, 1865.
ANDREW JONES, son of Samuel Jones, was born in New Jersey Nov. 15, 1829. Enlisted and went out as Corporal in Co. D, 76th O.V.I., Dec. 4, 1863. He was never sick wounded, or captured, and was discharged with the regiment at Columbus, O., July 16, 1865.
JOHN ROBERTS, son of Alexander and Mary Roberts, was born in Monroe Co. July 4, 1831. Went out in Co. B, 88th O.V.I. April 6, 1863. Was in no battles, the regiment having been on guard duty at Columbus, O., during most of the time. Was sick only once, a short time with mumps. Was discharged with the regiment at Columbus, July 3, 1865.
PETER [George?] BAILEY, son of Washington and Eliza Bailey, was born in Marietta Aug. 16, 1863. Went March 4, 1864, in Co. I, 122nd O.V.I. Had no sickness while with the regiment. At the battle of the Wilderness, May 7, 1864, he was wounded in the left shoulder and hand; captured and taken to Danville prison. He has never since been heard from, and is supposed to be dead. He was married and left three children.
PETER MCGOVERN, son of John and Catharine McGovern, was born at Green Bush, N.Y., Oct. 24, 1842. Enlisted from Warren in Co. K, 2nd Va. I. in 1861 for two years. Was detailed for hospital duty for some time but was otherwise with the regiment. Was wounded slightly at South Mountain Md. Struck in the thigh, disabling him but a short time. Was never captured as is known. Re-enlisted in 1863 in 2nd Louisiana Cavalry. Came home on sick furlough and was in hospital at Cairo, Ill., about a month. Rejoined his regiment at Morrisonia, La., and is supposed to be now (1865) in service in the South-west.
THOMAS M. INGRAM, son of Adkinson and Lucinda Ingram, was born in Noble Co. May 2, 1848. Enlisted (1st) and served his time out without sickness in Co. F, 129th O.V.I. Went out (2nd) in Co. F, 148th O.N.G. Off duty but three days during service and discharged with Company at Marietta. Enlisted (3rd) in Co. B, 32nd O.V.I. Was detailed on garrison duty at Columbus, O., during most of the time and was discharged in May 1865.
