DAVID CALL,
son of Joseph and Margaret Call, was born in Jefferson Co. O. Feb 29 1838. He enlisted at the formation of Co. F, 92nd O.V.I. in the fall of 1862. Soon after leaving the state he was taken ill with erysipelas in the head and face, of which he died in Nashville Tenn. March 18, 1863. He was buried in the hospital grounds.
DUDLEY COLE, son of Malachi and Romenta Cole, was born in Warren about 1840. Enlisted from Warren in Co. __, 92nd O.V.I. at the organization of the regiment. He was never in hospital, and was never wounded or captured. Participated in the various service of the regiment and was for a considerable time detailed as wagon master. Went through in Sherman's march to the coast, and northward and was discharged with the regiment at Columbus, June 10, 1865.
STEPHEN FRANCIS, son of Edward and Anna Francis, was born in Newport Tp. July 25, 1837. He enlisted Aug. 8, 1862 in Co. F, 92nd O.V.I. Was sick two weeks with fever at Lister's Ferry Ga. in ay 1865, and two months during the previous year with measles. At Mission Ridge a minie ball entering near the shoulder came out close to the elbow of his right arm, fracturing the bone slightly. He was sent to a field hospital in the rear, and thence to Camp Dennison O. where he remained six months and rejoined the regiment in June 1864. Was discharged with the regiment at Washington, June 10, 1865.
JOHN HOHN, was born in Germany, about 1828. He is supposed to have had no relatives in this country. Enlisted from Warren in Co. G, 92nd O.V.I. at the organization of the regiment. At the battle of Chickamauga Sept. 20, 1863 he was wounded in the heel by a fragment of shell. Was removed from the field hospital to Nashville, where he died with lockjaw probably in Oct. 1863.
WILLIAM PRYOR, son of Henry and Anna Pryor, was born in Noble Co. April 23, 1836. Enlisted in Co. F, 92nd O.V.I. in July 1862. During the winter of 1862-3 he lost his hearing. Went to hospital at Gallipolis in Jan. 1863, then to Camp Dennison where he received his discharge on the 17th of June 1863.
FRANCIS PRYOR, son of Henry and Anna Pryor, was born in Noble Co. O. Nov. 4, 1838. Went out at the same time with his brother William in Co. F, 92nd O.V.I. Was taken sick with measles in Feb. 1863, and reported again to the regiment the next May. His recovery however was not complete, and he was remanded to the hospital, where he remained till Aug. 1863. Was wounded Feb. 25, 1864 near Dalton Ga., two minie balls striking him in the left thigh, one remaining in the wound and extracted about an hour afterward. Was disabled in hospital at Chattanooga and Nashville a month. On his way to the regiment after recovery, he was detailed as train guard, and captured while on this duty near Calhoun Ga. Aug. 14, 1864. Was immediately taken to Andersonville, thence in rapid succession to Savannah, Macon, Blackshire, Thomasville, Albany, and back to Andersonville Dec. 24. Was paroled at our lines March 31, 1865. Contracted camp disease in prison, which has since reduced him very much. Received his discharge at Columbus, July 17, 1865.
DAVID WRIGHT, son of William C. and Maria Wright, was born in Belmont Co. Aug. 31, 1840. Enlisted from Warren Sept 1862 in Co. G, 92nd O.V.I. Was not in hospital by sickness, and participated in all the service and fighting of his regiment until the battle of Kenesaw Mountain June 23, 1864, when, while engaged in putting up breast-works, previous to the main action, he was struck by a minie ball cutting off his left heel. The limb was amputated at the ancle, and he remained in the field hospital two or three weeks, and was then transferred to Nashville, where, gangrene having set in he died July 17, 1864. His remains were disinterred, brought home, and buried in the Tunnel cemetery in Warren, March 20, 1865.
