Pierpont Battery

JAMES ANDERSON, son of Marcus and Rebecca Anderson, was born in Union, March 20, 1844.  Went into Co. D, Pierpont Battery, March 5, 1864.  No sickness to keep him off duty, nor wounds, nor capture.  Was left at Camp B. D. C. in the 19th N.G. Art. while the Battery was home on veteran furlough.  Discharged with the Battery at Wheeling June 28, 1865.

 JOSEPH T. HUTCHINSON, son of Joseph and Jane Hutchinson, was born in Warren, Feb. 15, 1833.  Went out in Sept. 1861 as a member of the Pierpont Battery.  Never wounded or captured.  He died Sept. 12, 1863 of camp disease near Rappahannock Station Va.  Was brought home by his friends and interred in the Warren Burying ground.
